Combination Trekking & Climbing Programs in the Cordillera Blanca

The Cordillera Blanca (White Mountain Range) is Peru’s best-known mountain region and truly a trekkers and climbers paradise. The Cordillera Huayhuash is located in, and protected by, the Huascaran National Park, a paradise of 33 snow-capped peaks which rise above 6,000m/19,686ft crowned by Peru’s highest peak, Huascarán 6786m/22,204ft). It includes 663 glaciers, 269 lakes (cocha), 41 emerald colored rivers and 33 archaeological sites. Trekking and climbing is best done during Peru’s dry season, June to September, with optimum conditions usually in July. Acclimatisation is essential so allow between 4 days and 1 week before starting a peak ascent depending on the height and technical difficultly of the mountain.
