We drive up to Llaca (Yah cah) Valley located northeast of Huaraz about 1.5 hours by car. Where the road ends, we start our hike ascending up to the top of the valley close to the glacier. Along the way we can see several of the rock climbing routes, and abundant lupines (Taulli) plants and flowers. Returning from the Ranrapalca Glacier the view is even better as we traverse along the top of the moraine to the Ranrapalca Lake. We will spend time at Ranrapalca Lake 4474m/14,678ft enjoying the view and having a picnic lunch. Finally, we start our decent down to our trailhead starting point where our private transportation will be waiting to take us back to Huaraz. 7 – 8 hours total.
